Cyber Monday 2013

Cyber Monday starts at midnight and consumers are predicted to spend a whopping 1.8 BILLION online. BILLION. One of, if not the biggest online shopping days of the year. I don't know about you, but I would so much rather shop online than fight the crowds on Black Friday. I need my sleep. I much rather would surf the web cozy at home drinking my coffee. In fact, I shop online a lot. I usually know what I want or have a good idea what I'm looking for. This time last year I was buying everything new for our home online. Our house was in a flood so we were remodeling and getting it back together. Our family was living in a camper in our front yard and I sat in the camper with my iPad and bought all new furniture and accessories online. I don't think our Fedex and UPS delivery people liked me very much, I ordered a lot of heavy furniture.
Anyways, I became an expert on online shopping and have a few tips.

1. Look for coupon codes. On the website they usually have a coupon code advertised somewhere. If not, check the websites Facebook page or Twitter account if they are advertising codes. You can usually save an additional 10-20% or get free shipping with these.

2. Always pay with a credit card on a secured site. If anything happens, your cc usually has some protection for fraud and your not getting your bank account doesn't get drained.

3. Never buy on a public wifi "hotspot" or on a public computer.

4. Keep documentation. Print the receipt and write or circle your confirmation number. File it in a folder. If you don't print, make sure you have a notebook with confirmation, amount, where, what, date and customer service phone number.

5. Read the return policies before you purchase. Don't get stuck with an item that can't be returned if already opened.

6. Double check delivery times! Make sure it will be delivered sometime before Christmas. Online shopping is great for purchasing a product for someone who lives far away. You can enter their address and have it shipped to their house.

7. Check for free gift wrapping. If you're like me, you hate to gift wrap! This is a great bonus that you can find especially on cyber Monday.

Have fun shopping online and let me know what cool deals you find!

Toods,
Amy
